Originally distributed in Japan, the brand is now available all over the world, including the United States, with recent years notching more than 5 million cars sold.

Recent Recalls and Complaints
In recent years, Nissan has undergone a few recalls from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) for a variety of reasons. Those reasons include:
- Rear door may open when the window is down. A door opening on its own, especially when the vehicle is in motion, could cause serious injury.
- Software or Occupant Classification System issues could prevent the airbag from deploying. This increases the chance of an injury in a collision.
- Secondary hood latch may bind and not latch. This could cause the hood to open while the vehicle is in motion, creating a driving hazard.
- Front brake caliper mounting bolts may be loose. This could cause the caliper to detach, interfering with braking.
- Airbag may not detect passenger. If an adult passenger isn’t sensed, the airbag won’t deploy in an accident.
- Missing load capacity modification label. Without this label, drivers may overload their vehicles.
- Seat belt may not adequately protect the passenger’s head. This creates an increased risk of injury.
- Fuel tank breather tube incorrectly attached. This may cause the fuel gauge to read incorrectly.
Complaints about Nissans have more variety to them. They’ve included comments about:
- Fuel systems
- Airbags
- Powertrain
- Engine

Seek Legal Assistance for Your Nissan
If you’ve experienced one of the problems above, or something similar, you can report it directly to the NHTSA so they can compile your Nissan complaint in their database. If they receive enough complaints on the same topic, they may launch an investigation into the matter.
Report your problem within the original warranty period and you will have the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act working in your favor. This federal law was designed to protect consumers from unethical warranty practices. If a dealership failed to fix a defect in your Nissan within three or more attempts and/or your vehicle has been twenty or more cumulative days out of service, you may have a viable suit against the manufacturer for breach of warranty.
You may also have state lemon laws on your side. Like the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, these laws exist to extend extra protection to you, the consumer.
Don’t keep driving your Nissan back to the dealership for repairs. Robison Lemon Law Group LLC can help you navigate both the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act and lemon laws to ensure you receive the justice you deserve.
